There’s something wonderfully conventional about the world I live in. I don’t mean conventional as in the last few decades, but further back in time, when people still lived in villages.
I’m surrounded by people who run small businesses, most have less than ten employees, some work by themselves. Our business thrives on the relationships we’ve built; each of us eager to find clients for the people we know and trust. We know each other by name, personality, and expertise; the company we work for is secondary. We get together at bars to catch up and share gossip, getting drunk is secondary. We talk about the state of our community, and how we can collaborate to make it better.
I love being an entrepreneur in Silicon Beach.
